Carbon Capture

Clean & Simple

FrostCC™

In a world where industrial progress comes at a cost to our environment, we’ve developed a groundbreaking cryogenic carbon capture system that redefines the future of emission control.

Our proven technology is as elegant as it is effective, offering a low-cost solution for capturing carbon dioxide and other harmful pollutants from post-combustion processes and returning pure, clean air to our atmosphere.

FrostCC is a novel cryogenic post-combustion carbon capture system

Chemical & water-free

Up to 99% capture of CO₂

FrostCC™ Benefits

Fully electric driven

Removes co-pollutants

How it works

  • Before it can go into the atmosphere, our system catches, cools, and compresses industrial flue gas. The compression acts as a form of potential energy which will be leveraged to clean up flue gas.

  • Using advanced cryogenic technology, we use the stored potential energy in the flue gas to cool it to extremely low temperatures, causing the carbon dioxide and other pollutants to "frost" out of the flue gas. This allows us to separate these pollutants from the remaining clean flue gas.

  • The result is the release of pure, clean, air-like flue gas to the environment, and the sequestration of the harmful carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

FrostCC™ Specifics

Low cost: quick & easy installation

FrostCC is electrically-driven and consists of durable, and widely-available industrial equipment such as shell-and-tube heat exchangers, air-like compressors and expanders, and other typical balance-of-plant components. The flue gas is compressed, cooled, and expanded as an auto-refrigerant in an open loop cycle to produce enough cooling so that carbon dioxide within it solidifies, or frosts (as we like to say).

We are then able to physically separate the COto produce a pure, pressurized & transportation-ready product.

We can capture up to 99% of CO from nearly any power or industrial plant, it is clean, chemical-free, and water-free, while also removing co-pollutants. Factory-fabricated for high-volume production, it is modular and scalable. Its installation is quick and easy with the only interface to the plant being a tie-in at the stack and an electric power supply.

FrostCC recently operated its first end-to-end system at the National Carbon Capture Center for 1,000 hours of carbon capture bringing it to a technology readiness level (TRL) of 6. The next step in its development is the demonstration of its go-to-market standard commercial module, which will bring it to a TRL 9.
